Worst Sale Ever

I am not the world's most savvy shopper, but I like to think I don't get raked over the coals either.  But while doing some grocery shopping late this afternoon I came across two "sales" at our local store that were absolutely ones that could be passed up.

If you look to the right of the big yellow sign you will see the regular price for the item, which is 59¢ per yogurt, or 14.75¢ per ounce.  But wait, only through November 1st, you can now pay 70¢ per yogurt, or 18¢ per ounce.  What a deal!  Why thank you Name of Supermarket Withheld Because I Still Like Them for offering such a fine deal. 

But if you thought this one was too good to be true, check out the other bargain I found today just a few aisles down from this one.

Hurry in everyone...this sale only lasts until next week!  Regularly priced $2.69, Smucker's Grape Jelly is now on sale for $2.99.  What a deal!  At 30¢ more per jar than it usually costs, I am surprised there where any left on the shelf when I got there. 

I figured this certainly was a misprint, so I peeled back the sale sign to check the regular price sticker behind it.  As you have probably guess, its regular price is indeed 30¢ less than its new "sale price."

Ultimately, I decided against purchasing this jelly. 

But give them credit, while they may be raising prices in this tough economy, you certainly can't say they are trying to do it behind your back.  The information is all right there.
