Well someone had to go first. Say goodbye to Made in Jersey only after two episodes on CBS. The show, which is about a colorful New Jersey lawyer who lands a gig at an Manhattan law firm, was a decent premise, but as with everything in the television world, it is the ratings that matter. Nearly 8 million viewers tuned in for the premier on September 28, but then a week later for episode two they saw their ratings drop to 5.8 million. That combined with the cost of the show and the production quality led CBS to drop the axe on this one and air reruns of Hawaii Five-O instead. As for me, I could care less honestly as this is not a show that I watched. However, a show that I throughly have been enjoying is not out of the woods. If you haven't seen Go On or The New Norma both on Tuesday evenings on NBC, you are truly missing out. Go On stars Matthew Perry as a widower who is learning to live life without the his wife. On the surface, the premise doesn't sound very funny (and it is not) but the writing and the supporting characters make this a gem worth watching. And I must not be alone, because 6.95 million people joined me in watching this week's. The show that I love even more however is right on the bubble of survival. The New Normal is about a homosexual couple who are having a baby through a surrogate. Heart-warming, vulgar and brutally honest all at the same time, this comedy is truly something special. This week, 4.96 million tuned in, which while a decent enough number, is still not enough to ensure its survival. If you get a chance, give it a shot. Much like All in the Family in the 1970s, this show deals with the political, family and personal issues of the times. But unlike Archie Bunker, this show doesn't come with a warning (even if you think at times it might need one).
