Absent...but for a good reason

So I've had a gap of in posting on here once again, but I've got a few good reasons.  
Reason # 1: 
I've been busy working on a couple of stories for the upcoming issue of Chicago Parents Going Places Spring 2015 issue that hits the newsstands on March 16.  Once it is out I will of course post links/copies of them here.  As a preview for you, they are both travel pieces.  One on some cool John Deere attractions in Illinois and Iowa, the second on different hockey road trips for families.  

Reason #2
WLTL 88.1 FM held its annual fundraiser in February.  It is an 88.1 hour marathon of live broadcasting and an insane amount of work.  In the end however it was all worth it as we raised $31,864 for the students and programs of WLTL Radio.  In my ten years as the General Manager of WLTL, this brings my fundraising total to more than $240,000.  Not bad if I say so myself.

Reason #3
Beginning in March, I will host a weekly show on Chicago's Business Radio AM 1530 WCKG called Study Hall Radio.  The focus of the program will be everything high school.  But while I will be the show's host, the meat and bones of the program will be produced by students.  The interview, ideas and segments will all be student written and produced each week.  How cool for them to be able to say there work is on a commercial station in Chicago!  Right now it will begin with students from WLTL Radio, but it is our hope to expand it out to include reporters from other area high schools too.

So as you can see, I really haven't taken any time off...just reassigned it elsewhere.  Stay tuned...it's starting to get exciting around here!
