Hello Kristin!
If you are someone other than Kristin who has accidentally stumbled upon this page, just move along...
So, it's been quite a year. Pandemic, masks, e-learning, working from home, vaccines...I could go on. Not to mention the lovely students in your classroom who lately have been testing your already paper-thin patience even more. You need a break. No, you deserve a break. So...
Pack Your Bags!
Well, probably bag. It's not a long trip. But hopefully it will feel a world away. First Stop? Check in at:
Located in beautiful Geneva, Illinois, the Herrington Inn & Spa is an all-suite hotel right on the Fox River. Our Premiere Town View Room will be ready at 4pm, which is good, because after check-in it will be time to grab dinner. My suggestion is:
Stockholm is a brewpub that has a great menu of burgers, sandwiches and entrees...even some Swedish food! Also, and maybe most importantly, their hand-crafted beers are available to go! Check out their menu here: https://www.stockholmsbrewpub.com/
Also, if this place doesn't look great to you, there are PLENTY of places in downtown Geneva we can go to.
After grabbing dinner, it is of course time for dessert! What better place to find something sweet to eat than a place that holds some world records for chocolate!

The All Chocolate Kitchen is part cafe, part coffee shop, and part chocolate museum. Executive Chef and Owner Alain Roby holds three World Records for Chocolate Sculpting, and you can see his works on display in his shop. He also has appeared on Food Network and served as a private pastry chef to the Shah of Iran (I don't know who that is...but is sounds impressive). Check out his place here: https://allchocolatekitchen.com/
But Wait...There's More!
After a relaxing night away from it all, breakfast will be ordered and brought to the room from Atwater's. Preview the menu here: https://www.herringtoninn.com/dining/breakfast-menu.
I was going to surprise you with this tomorrow...but I thought you might like a heads-up :). I also thought, you'll probably still be surprised - just about 24 hours in advance.
Love,
Chris
